In Uttar Pradesh, 11 persons have been arrested for their alleged involvement in adulteration activities.Quoting official sources, AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that officials of Food and Drug Authority conducted raids in 10 districts to check adulteration in consumable and edible items. 7 persons have been arrested from Barabanki, Fatehpur, Aligarh, Badaun, Kanpur, Mathura and Bulandshahr districts while 4 from Sonbhadra, Unnao and Hardoi districts. Officials have also seized spurious vegetable oil, vegetables, milk products, expiry and prohibited medicines, sweets and other items in huge quantity during search. FDI has initiated a special drive in the state against adulteration in the state and 158 persons have been arrested in this regard while 229 FIRs have been lodged till now. Officials announced to continue the drive to nab the culprits engaged in adulteration.
