Electronics hardware mfrg to face zero duty regime post -WTO agreement :Min Deora<br/>

Electorinics hardware manufacturing is the first sector to face zero duty regime on account of implementation of the information and technology agreement of the World Trade Organisation, WTO. This was informed by the Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Milind Deora in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today.He said basic custom duty on imports has been exempted on 217 tariff lines. These items include IT hardware, telecom equipments and electronic components. He said that the government has already notified the National Policy on Electronics to promote the electronics system design and manufacturing sector.
