<span style="color: #222222;">The Centre on Wednesday said in view of the interest of the sovereignty and integrity of the country and other security issues the Electronics and Information Technology department has given directions for blocking Thirty thousand 310 websites, apps, social media accounts and web pages.<br />''<br />''In a written reply in Lok Sabha, Minister of Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw informed that from 2018 to till 15th of this month these blocking directions have been given. <br />''<br />''He further said during the period, the Committee constituted under the rules of The Information Technology Acts examined more than forty-one thousand Universal Resource Locators (URLs) of different social media, accounts, channels, pages, apps, web pages and websites that were received from nodal officers in various ministries, departments and States.<br />''<br />''The Minister said under these Acts necessary action regarding blocking is taken in the interest of the sovereignty and integrity of the country, defence of India, security of the state, public order and friendly relations with other countries.</span><br />
