Government reiterates its stand on complete electrification of the villages by 2012. Talking to reporters in New Delhi today, Power minister Mr Sushil Kumar Shinde said that the Centre has set the target of producing seventy eight thousand Mega Watts of Power by next two years to meet the demand. He said, governmnet will import 60 million tonnes of coal in next fiscal to meet the target and Foreign Direct Investment will be raised upto 50 percent from current 30 percent.
