Electrification of Ghaziabad-Meerut-Saharanpur of 161 route kilometre has been completed. Electric trains can now run seamlessly from Delhi, Ghaziabad, Khurja towards Haridwar, Ambala, Jammu, and Amritsar with reduction in journey time between 30 to 60 minutes.<br/><br/>Sectional traffic throughout will also increase with electrification leading to higher capacity. An official release said the project has been executed by Central Organisation for Railway Electrification at an estimated cost of 275 crore rupees.
