The government has said that the current installed generation capacity of electricity in the country is about 391 Giga Watt which is sufficient to meet the highest peak demand of around 203 Giga Watt occurred till date. In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, the Minister for Power and New and Renewable Energy, R.K Singh said electricity generation capacity of around One lakh 61 thousand Mega Watt has been added since 2014.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The Minister said energy efficiency measures have been taken to save electricity. Due to these measures around 203.14 Billion Units of power have been saved per year. Mr. Singh said Liquidity Infusion Scheme of one lakh three thousand lakh crore rupees till November last year has helped DISCOMs to purchase electricity and meet the demand.</span><br />
