Electricity consumers of Haryana will get power on cheaper rates. The Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) and the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) have decided to revise the rates of fuel surcharge with effect from July 1, 2010 thus benefiting 45 lakh electricity consumers of the State.<br/><br/>The Managing Director, UHBVN, Arun Kumar said that the domestic category consumers would get a relief ranging from four paise to 13 paise per unit depending upon the consumption of electricity units. <br/><br/>The first 40 units of electricity consumed by a consumer will be charged at a rate of 15 paise per unit instead of 19 paise per unit. The consumers with electricity consumption between 41 units 41 and 300 will have to pay 29 paise instead of 39 paise per unit. <br/><br/>More than 300 units will be charged at a rate of 37 paise per unit instead of existing 50 paise per unit. The fuel surcharge on non-domestic supply will be 31 paise per unit. At present, the consumers of this category are paying 49 paise per unit. No fuel surcharge is being charged from Agricultural Tubewell consumers, which would continue.
