The Chief Election Commissioner of India Navin Chawla has said that the cases of violation of model code of conduct during elections were coming down and the electoral process in the country has become more transparent now. <br/><br/>Delivering the Silver Jubilee lecture on Electoral Democracy in India in Pondicherry University on Wednesday, he said, it was possible because of the improved technology and modern facilities. <br/><br/>He said, people from marginalised and vulnerable sections of society were coming forward to exercise their franchise without fear as more polling stations were opened in their areas. <br/><br/>Asserting that the masses should be educated about their voting rights, Mr. Chawla called upon students to come forward to help the Commission in the election process and work as booth level assistants.
