<span style="color: #222222;">Election Commission has postponed the due elections of gram panchayats, zila parishads and Port Blair Municipal Council in Andaman and Nicobar Islands till further order. The decision has been taken after observing the current situation of COVID-19 in the islands. The commission was informed earlier about the current COVID-19 situation by the administration. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The tenure of all these institutions is going to complete in September this year. The commission has completed major preparatory works like revision of electoral rolls . Now, the Election Commission will assess the situation and take proper action with respect to the proposed elections when the situation becomes normal.</span><br />
