Elections for 81 municipal bodies in West Bengal on May 30

The West Bengal State Election Commissioner (SEC) Miss Meera Pandey has said that, there will be over 10 thousand polling centers in the State for elections to 81 municipal bodies including Kolkata Corporation to be held on the 30th of this month. <br/><br/>Speaking to news persons in Kolkata today Miss Pandey said that, over 50 thousand polling personnel and security forces will be deployed in these elections. She said that there will be at least two armed security guards in each polling stations. <br/><br/>Pointing out that a large number of seats are sensitive or hyper sensitive, she said that adequate security arrangements will be made to prevent any untoward incident.<br/><br/>Miss Pandey also said that adequate contingency arrangements are being made to replace defective electronic voting machines with new ones during any emergency. <br/><br/>Miss Pandey also pointed out that this time, there will be more than 85 Lakh electorates exercising their franchise.
