Elections for 3 municipal corpns of Delhi on April 15

The elections to the newly constituted three municipal corporations of Delhi will be held tomorrow. A total of 2400 candidates are in the fray for 272 seats. Both South and North Delhi Municipal Corporations have 104 wards each while East Delhi has 64 wards. The Delhi State Election Commission has made elaborate arrangements to ensure free and fair polls tomorrow. It has deployed around 70,000 officials for conducting the polls and over 30,000 police personnel for security arrangements. A total of 11,500 polling stations have been set up across the city. According to the Commission, 55 polling stations have been identified as hyper-sensitive while 275 have been declared as sensitive.Most of the hyper-sensitive and sensitive polling stations fall under Assembly segments of Jamia Nagar, Seelampur and Chandni Chowk. A total of 1.12 crore eligible voters will be able to exercise their franchise in the polls.
