Electioneering at a feverish pitch in other poll bound states

In Tamilnadu, undithered by the heat of summer politicians are on their mission to canvass voters for their party. As electioneering comes to a close tomorrow every party is out on the streets visiting the voters and displaying their word power. Only 24 hours is left for campaigning to come to a close for the single phase polls in the state on the 13th of this month. The election comission has issued booth slips throughout the state. In Chennai alone booth slips were distributed in all the 3236 polling booths. AIR correspondent reports, One thousand five hundred booths in the city have been identified as sensitive and micro observers would monitor 340 stations and 495 polling stations would have video surveillance In West Bengal, electioneering has peaked as the date for the first phase polls to 54 assembly seats in six district of North Bengal draws nearer. Political parties and the candidates have adopted various means of electioneering and also are approaching voters directly. In Darjeeling, electioneering and preparations to hold peaceful smooth election is going on simultaniously. AIR correspndent reports, the Deputy Election Commissioner Mr. Vinod Zutsi visited North Bengal for the second time today to review the Darjeeling hill situation in view of the coming assembly election. Active campaigning for the Kerala assembly election will conclude by tomorrow evening. Top national and state leaders of major political parties like Congress, BJP and CPIM are engaged in final efforts to woo voters to their side. AIR correspondent reports, single phase polling to hundred and forty constituencies of the state will be held on coming Wednesday.In Puducherry, with less than 24 hours to go for the poll campaigning to end, last ditch efforts by political parties are on to woo the voters. AIR correspondent reports, national political leaders, in the last leg of their election tour, have come to puducherry today for campaigning.
