<span style="color: #222222;">The election fever has gripped Karnataka with the contest for two seats of legislative assembly and four seats of legislative Council gaining momentum.<br />'' <br />'' Two of the Graduate Constituencies and two of Teachers Constituencies will go to polls on October 28. Both the assembly segments of R R Nagar and Sira will go to the polls on November 3rd.<br />'' <br />'' AIR Correspondent reports, the four seats of legislative Council are important for the ruling party BJP as it lacks a majority in the upper House.<br />'' <br />'' In the House of 75, BJP has 23 members and a Chairman, Congress 31 and JD(S) 11. There are five Independents and four seats are vacant. In the two Assembly segments going to the polls, triangular fight is foreseen.<br />'' <br />'' Congress wants to retain R R Nagar and gain Sira that it lost to JD(S) in the previous election.<br />'' <br />'' The R R Nagar previous MLA, N Munirathna of Congress has now joined BJP and is likely to get a ticket.<br />'' <br />'' From R R Nagar, Congress has finalised the name of H Kusuma who is the wife of D K Ravi, the deceased IAS officer.<br />'' <br />'' The Congress candidate from Sira is former minister T B Jayachandra. JD(S) is fielding the wife of late B Sathyanarayana who was the sitting MLA in Sira. BJP is yet to announce its candidates for R R Nagar and Sira.<br />'' <br />'' Assembly by election results will not have any bearing on the existence of the BJP Government but the party position will vary.
