In Tamilnadu, election fever is catching up in the state following the matching up of alliances. This is the first assembly election after delimitation. Last election it was a three cornered contest in most of the constituencies. This time it will be a two cornered contest between the two Dravidian parties. Though BJP and BSP have decided to go alone it will not have much impact considering the baseline in the state. The talks between the MDMK and the AIADMK not being settled, the party has convened a high level committee meeting on Saturday to decide on further course of action. As of now, DMK has shared 63 seats with the Congress, 30 with PMK, Ten with VCK and three to IUML and one each to Moovendar Munnetra Kazhagam and Perunthalaivar Munntra Kazhagam they would be contesting on DMK symbol. The DMK which will be contesting from 119 constituencies will be announcing its constituencies and candidates tomorrow. On the AIADMK front, apart from MDMK all other parties have settled down with their seat sharing talks. With this, the new partner of the front, the DMDK had been offered 41 seats, Left parties the CPI and CPM have been offered 10 and 12 seats, Manitha neya makkal katchi has been given three. The puthiya Tamizhagam party and All India Samathuva makkal katchi led by Actor sarath kumar has been offered two each, other minor allies of the front Republican party of India, All India Forward Block, Kongu makkal ilaignar peravai, All India Moovendar Munnetra Kazhagam all have been offered one each. Just two more days to go for the formal notification, parties are gearing up for the election mela in the State under the watchful eye of the election commission.
