In Assam, the Chief Election Commissioner S.Y.Quraishi along-with two Election Commissioners arrived in Guwahati this morning to review the poll preparedness. The State is going to poll on 4th and 11th of the next month in two phases. The notification for the first phase of polls will be issued on 10th of this month. Official sources said the full Election Commission is meeting the representatives of various political parties besides the district election officers and the Superintendents of Police. The Commission will also meet the Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police of the State to take overall stock of the situation and poll-related priority issues during their day-long deliberations.
