Chief Election Commissioner S Y Qureshi and Deputy Election Commissioner Alok Shukla will hold consultations with representatives of various political parties, in Chennai this morning. Tamil Nadu is scheduled to go to polls in May next year. Mr. Qureshi will also be meeting District Collectors, Election Officials, Senior Police Officers on the poll preparations. AIR correspondent reports that most political parties have been demanding that the Election Commission announce a single day poll and have asked for stringent action to prevent distribution of gifts and money to woo voters.
