Election Commission of India will celebrate the 6th National Voters' Day across the country today. The theme for this year is Inclusive and Qualitative Participation. The National level function will be held in New Delhi. President Pranab Mukherjee will give away the awards for Best Electoral Practices to Chief Electoral Officers, District Electoral Officers and other Officers involved in election management. Awards will also be given to Media Houses and Civil Society Organizations for best campaign in Voters' Education and Awareness.<br/>Chief Election Commissioner Nasim Zaidi will release the book titled, Belief in the Ballot, and present the first copy to the President.<br/>25th January is also the foundation day of the Commission, which came into being on this day in 1950. The Commission's objective through National Voters' Day is to increase enrolment of voters, especially of the newly eligible ones. The Day is also utilized to spread awareness among voters regarding effective participation in the electoral process.
