Election Commission orders FIR against Giriraj Singh

The Election Commission has ordered to file FIR against Bihar BJP leader Giriraj Singh for his alleged controversial comment that has been described by rival parties as violation of Model Code of Conduct.

Bihar additional chief electoral officer R Lakshmanan today said Election Commission has instructed to lodge FIR after the expiry of show-cause notice period. Yesterday, the Election Commission (EC) had taken cognizance of BJP leader Giriraj Singh's comment that “those opposing Narendra Modi will have a place in Pakistan” after election. Giriraj is contesting Lok Sabha poll from Nawada.
