The notification for 99 Lok Sabha constituencies spread over 19 states and Union Territories, including all the seven seats in Delhi was issued today. These constituencies will go to the polls on the 9th and 10th of next month.

The states include Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Haryana, Chhatisgarh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and the Union territories of Chandigarh, Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Notification has also been issued for 60-seat Arunachal Pradesh Assembly and 70- seat Odisa Assembly elections.

With the issuance of notification, filing of nominations by the candidates has begun and they can file their papers till the 22nd of this month. The scrutiny of nominations takes place on the 24th and candidates can withdraw their names till the 26th of this month. Counting will take place on 16th May.
