Election campaigning in Kerala is all set to move to top gear with the arrival of national leaders in a couple of days. UPA Chairperson Ms Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh are scheduled to arrive in the state for campaigning next week. Defence Minister A K Antony will kick-off his campaign from Kasargod this Friday. A host of Congress party leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Pranab Kumar Mukherjee, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Manishankar Aiyer are among those who will take part in the campaign for UDF candidates.BJP National President Nitin Gadhkari will reach Thiruvananthapuram on the 10th of next month and will participate in election meetings in the capital, besides Thrissur and Palakkad. Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Mrs Sushama Swaraj, BJP leaders Rajnath Singh, Venkiah Naidu, Narendra Modi, Ravishankar Prasad, Ananthkumar are among those who will campaign in the state.CPM General Secretary Prakash Karat is also beginning his election tour from Thrissur on Friday. In the first leg of his campaign, Mr Karat will cover the districts of Ernakulam, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram. In the second leg beginning on the 8th of next month, Mr Karat will cover North Kerala districts. Sitaram Yechuri, Brinda Karat and S Ramachandran Pillai are among the CPM leaders who will campaign for LDF candidates.
