Commonwealth Games Organising Committee have made elaborate transport arrangement for 7500 athletes, team officials. media and others related to the games. Briefing media persons, Special Director General of Organising Committee G.G.Thomas, in New Delhi told reporters that transport facilities to athletes and other will start from 23rd September to 17th October. He said TATA Motors has provided 1800 new cars with three thousand divers and supporting staff to bring them from airport to the Commonwealth village and hotels. He said each of the car have been equipped with GPS system and high level services will be in place on demand. He said that 24 hour call centres will function on these days for taking request and assisting guests. DTC has also provided 349 low floor AC buses for athletes and 125 AC buses for media. Delhi Police have identified primary and secondary routs and will ensure the sanctity of the games lanes. The volunteers and officials will wear batches saying that they know English to facilitate players and guests.
