In Andhra Pradesh, elaborate security arrangements have been made in Hyderabad and surrounding areas in view of the Bandh called by the Telangana Joint Action Committee. Pressing for statehood for Telangana, the Telangana JAC has called for Hyderabad Bandh today as part of its ongoing General Strike. Additional forces including central and Rapid Action Forces have been deployed at all important places such as Government offices, the assembly, state Secretariat and other public places in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. The city police have appealed to agitators not to pose any inconvenience to people during the bandh while the Pro Telangana parties have appealed to people to cooperate for the bandh. Meanwhile, all the MMTS local train services have been cancelled till afternoon in Hyderabad today while the state owned bus services were already off the roads for the past 15 days.
