Elaborate security arrangements in place for Bihar final phase polls

In Bihar, elaborate security arrangements have been made to ensure free and fair poll during the sixth and last phase of Assembly elections tomorrow. Voting will be held at 26 constituencies including 18 Naxal hit spread over five districts of Gaya, Aurangabad, Rohtas, Kaimur and Buxar. Shoot at sight order issued to thwart any attempt to disrupt the polling process. Polling would begin from 7AM at continued till 3 PM at 18 Naxal hit segments due to security reasons and till 5 in remaining 8 segments. Counting of the votes will be held on Wedenasday.After visiting some constituencies from Kaimur and Rohtas districts our correspondent reports that security forces have conducted flag march at several places to instil sense of security among common men. Patrolling at border and riverine areas has been intensified. About 95 percent polling stations are manned by central Para military forces while in Gaya and Aurangabad districts central Para military forces are deployed at all polling centres. Interstate borders of the state with Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh have been sealed. Anti-landmine vehicles and satellite phones have been provided to ensure safe movement of forces in the Naxalite-affected districts. One helicopter each stationed at Gaya, Aurangabad, Rohtas and Kaimur for Ariel surveillance. Special security measures have been taken in and around vulnerable hamlets for free and fair voting.Prominent candidates whose political fate would be decided tomorrow include speaker of state assembly Uday Narayan Chaudhary, three ministers of state government including Chhedi Paswan, Awadhesh Narayan Singh and Anil Kumar, former union minister Kanti Singh, former state government ministers including Shakeel Ahmad Khan, Illiyas Hussain and Suresh Paswan and president of state unit of Janta Dal (secular) BSP and SP.The 26 seats where polling would be held are Bramhpur, Buxar, Dumraon and Rajpur(reserve) from Buxar district, Mohania(reserve), Ramgarh, Bhabhua, Chainpur all from Kaimur district, Obra, Aurangabad, Goh, Nabinagar, Kutumba(reserve) and Rafiganj from Aurangabad district while Nokha, Sasaram, Kargahar, Dehari, Chenari(reserve), Dinara and Karakat from Rohtas districts, Gurua, Sherghati, Imamganj(reserve), Barachatti(reserve) and Tekari from Gaya district.
