Two choppers have been put on alert and special preparations have been made for smooth polling in higher reaches of Uttarakhand. As the polling is scheduled on coming Monday for 70 assembly seats in the State, elaborate arrangements have been made to ensure free and fair polls.AIR correspondent reports, according to the State Chief Election Officer Radha Raturi, special care has been taken to assist the high altitude poll parties, which have already left for the tough hilly regions.She told that the Home ministry, army, SSB and ITBP have provided sleeping bags, snow boots, jackets and other equipment for these polling parties.In addition, two choppers have been put on alert to launch rescue operations in case of any exigency.Meanwhile, campaigning is on its peak as the bigwigs of different political parties had addressed a number of election rallies across the state on Friday.
