Elaborate arrangements made for Nizamabad LS polls

In Nizamabad Lok Sabha constituency of Telangana, the elections authorities will display 12 ballot units, one control panel and one VVPAT in 'L' shape in each of 1788 polling stations. The election commission, for the first time in the country, is making arrangements for holding polling by using 12 ballot units in Nizamabad Lok Sabha constituency. <br />''<br />''<br />''Total 185 candidates are contesting from Nizamabad constituency, which is the highest number of candidates in the country, in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections. Over 170 farmers are contesting as mark of protest against the state and central governments for not getting remunerative prices for their farm produce especially turmeric and Sorghum.<br />'' <br />''Meanwhile, the election authorities in Telangana are making elaborate arrangements on a war footing. State Chief Electoral Officer Dr Rajat Kumar informed that over 27 thousand ballot units 3500 control units and 3600 VVPATs and all consignments of the election equipment reached the constituency. The first level checks of the machines are expected to be completed by this morning.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Keeping in view the huge number of candidates and presence of over a dozen machines in each polling station, the authorities are creating voters awareness about the arrangement of EVMs and other details in Nizamabad.</span><br />
