Elaborate arrangements made for Andhra Pradesh bypolls

In Andhra Pradesh, elaborate arrangements are being made for conducting bye-poll in 12 Assembly segments on Tuesday. The polling will be held tomorrow between 7AM and 5PM. AIR correspondent, over 23.5 lakh voters in 12 constituencies of Andhra Pradesh will utilize their franchise to decide the political prospects of a total 435 candidates during Tuesday’s bye-poll. A total 2783 polling stations have been set up in 5 Telangana districts. Polling is being held through ballot paper in 5 segments- Sircilla, Yellareddy, Warangal West, Hujurabad and Korutla as the number of candidates is more than 64, while the Electronic Voting Machines are being used in rest of the 7 assembly segments-Vemulawada, Dharmapuri(SC), Siddipet, Sirpur, Nizamabad Urban, Mancherial and Chennur(SC). About 20 lakh ballot papers are kept ready while 1500 ballot boxes and 2000 EVMs are being used in the bye-poll. About 15,000 polling staff and 68,000 police personnel have been deployed for bye-poll while polling material and staff is being airlifted to some interior places especially in Adilabad district, where the road transport has been affected due to heavy rains.
