Elaborate arrangements have been made for smooth conduct of Marathon race and closing ceremony of the Commonwealth games to be held on 14th of this month. There will be some diversions on routes to facilitate the runners, while some routes will be restricted for general movement from midnight on 13th till 10.30 A.M in the morning next day. Briefing reporters in New Delhi, Joint Commissioner of Delhi Police, Satyendra Garg said that routes including Rajpath, Parliament Street, Janpath, Red Cross Outer and Inner Circus of the Connaught will be blocked for traffic movement during the race. General public have been advised to use Sardar Patel Marg, Baba Kharag Singh C- Hexagon Marg and other alternative roads for movement. However, the access to the New Delhi Railway Station will not be affected during the event.Mr. Garg said that during the day of closing ceremony of the games on Thursday, traffic on Bhishma Pitamah Marg from Lodhi Road to Kotla Mubarakpur will be restricted from 6 A.M in the morning till midnight. Delhi Police also advised the spectators to take designated routes of metro Station and focal point buses to reach Jawaharlal Nehru stadium.
