Delhi Police has made elaborate arrangements for smooth conduct of Walk race and Cycling competition of the Commonwealth games to be held on Saturday and Sunday. The 20 Kilometer walk race will take place at Sansad Marg tomorrow morning. Traffic on certain routes will be restricted for general movement from midnight till 10.30 tomorrow morning. In its Advisory , Delhi Police has said that traffic will be restricted on Ashoka Road , Red Cross Road, Jai Singh Road and other routes during the walk event. General public have been suggested to use Janpath ,Inner Circus of Connaught Place and Baba Kharag Singh Marg for their movement. For 165 Kilometer Cycling event,traffic will be blocked at Sansad Marg,Rafi Marg, Janpath, Talkatora Road and some other routes from tomorrow midnight till sunday evening. The advisory however said that the access to the New Delhi Railway Station will not be affected during the events. Services on the Delhi Metro will also be affected. According to Delhi Metro spokesperson, Patel Chowk and Central secretariat stations will remain closed between 5 A.M to 10 A.M. tomorrow and from 6A.M to 6 P.M on Sunday. On the day of closing ceremony on 14th these stations will remain closed between 5A.M to 11 A.M. However, Metro Train services will remain normal on all other routes. Delhi Police has also restricted the flying of any object including paraglider, remote operated light aircraft, micro light aircraft, hang glider and hot air ballon within the territory of Connaught Place Sub Division. The order which came in force yesterday will remain in place till 16th of this month.
