Elaborate arrangements done to ensure efficient cleaning venues during the CWG 2010

Elaborate arrangements have been made to ensure efficient cleaning and waste management at the venues during the Commonwealth Games 2010. Three cleaning vendors have been hired by the Organising Committee at a total cost of 21 crore rupees to deal with an estimated 1, 63, 200 kilograms of waste per day. At a press conference held in New Delhi today, Head of Cleaning and waste management Mr A K Chaturvedi said that 1100 litres of waste bins will be provided at various venues. He informed eleven waste compounds have been identified at all the venues in association with NDMC, MCD, and CRPF. A team of 51 people have been given the task to ensure planning and coordination with the relevant civic agencies and smooth functioning during the games.
