"Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bhrat" to be launched on Oct 31

In Mizoram, Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey said that the Government is launching a new program on the coming October 31.<br/><br/>The Minister was speaking as Chief Guest at the valedictory ceremony of the "Innovative Water Technology Management Fest" of Mizoram University, Aizawl this evening.<br/><br/>Addressing the gathering, Dr Pandey said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be launching a new central program known as "Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bhrat" (One India, Excellent India) on October 31, the day the nation observed as "Ekta Diwas" all over the country.<br/><br/>Informing that the Central Government is committed for the overall development of the North East, the Minister informed that the previous "Look East" policy has been renamed as "Act East" by the Government. <br/><br/>Lauding the people of Mizoram, the Minister showered all praise for the Mizo people and congratulates them for achieving high literacy rate of 92 percent.<br/><br/>Dr Pandey also said that he will look into infrastructural requirements of the University and committed for construction of University's football ground by next year. On his maiden 2-day visit to Mizoram, the Minister arrived Aizawl this evening.<br/><br/>He will halt the night at Aizawl and will inaugurate Women's Hostel of Mizoram University tomorrow after which he will depart from Aizawl.
