Finance Ministry today said, eight states' assemblies have passed the State GST Acts within a short span of less than one month. The states are Telangana, Bihar, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana. <br/><br/>The Ministry said, the remaining States and union territories are likely to pass the State GST Bill in their respective assemblies before the end of this month. The quick passage of the State GST Act by the different State Assemblies shows the keenness on the part of the State Governments to ensure that implementation of the GST is not further delayed. <br/><br/>The Central has decided to roll-out the new indirect regime from 1st of July this year. The next GST Council meeting is scheduled to be held at Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir on 18th and 19th of this month.
