<span style="color: #222222;">The Government today said that at present eight positions of Chairpersons in IITs and 22 positions in NITs are vacant. In a written reply, the Minister of State for Education, Dr Subhas Sarkar said three posts of Directors in IITs and 10 posts of Directors in NITs are also vacant. He said out of these, offers of appointment have been issued with respect to one IIT and ten NITs. The nomination and selection of Chairpersons and other posts is a continuous process.</span>
