In West Bengal, at least eight people were killed and four other injured in a road accident near Bhatar in Burdwan district on Thursday morning. Preliminary report reaching Kolkata says the incident occurred when a Matador van carrying passengers overturned following loss of control over vehicle. Eight people died on the spot. Injured persons have been admitted into Burdwan Medical College Hospital. Senior police officials have rushed to the spot.
