In Chhatttisgarh, cordon and search operations are on following the police naxalites encounter in the Mahasamund district. The bodies of the 8 naxalites killed in the encounter around 12 noon on Saturday have been recovered. The incident occurred near Padkipalli under the Sankra police station area of the district.Talking to AIR news on Saturday evening I.G. Rajesh Mishra said two jawans have also been injured in this encounter.He said that Police have recovered two weapons from the site of the incident and additional police reinforcements have also been sent to the spot.
