In China, at least eight miners have been killed in an underground coal mine explosion in the central Hunan province. <br/><br/>According to Henan Governor Guo Gengmao, the gas explosion occurred last evening in a mine operated by Guomin Mining Company in Luoyang City of the province. <br/><br/>A spokesman with the rescue headquarters said at least 51 miners have been rescued from the site, of which 20 people escaped by themselves. <br/><br/>According to rescuers, it was estimated that 27 others may be still trapped underground.
