Eight including three children died in Bihar flood

In Bihar, eight people including three children died in flood related incidents as the overall situation worsened today following heavy rains in the catchments areas of major rivers. AIR Patna correspondent reports that flood has affected about four lakh people in Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi Gopalganj and East Champaran districts of the state. Surging water of Kosi, Bagmati, Burhi Gandak and Adhwara group of rivers engulfed fresh areas new areas. Heavy discharge of water at Valmikinagar barrage inundated several villages in Gopalganj districts. Flood water also entered a portion of Vamikinagar Tiger Reserve in West Champaran. In Sitamarhi, swirling waters of Rato river has entered two SSB camps at Sonbarsa and Sursand. The Security forces in the camps have shifted to safer places.
