Eid Ul Fitr, which marks the culmination of the holy month of Ramzan, will be celebrated across the country tomorrow. Shahi Imam of Fatehpuri Masjid in Delhi, Dr Mufti Mohammed Mukkaram had said Eid moon was sighted this evening therefore Eid will be celebrated tomorrow.<br/><br/>President, Vice President and Prime Minister have greeted the people on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr. In his message, President Pranab Mukherjee has said, may this joyous occasion bring happiness, peace and prosperity and be an opportunity to rededicate ourselves to serve humanity. <br/><br/>He said, may this day, strengthen in each one of us, an unflinching faith in our unity and common destiny that has characterised our composite culture over the ages.<br/><br/>Vice President Hamid Ansari, in his message said, Id-ul-Fitr marks the culmination of the holy month of Ramzan and signifies the traditional expression of brotherhood and understanding between people. He added, the festival reaffirms the spirit of compassion, charity and generosity in our lives.<br/><br/>Earlier in the day, in his Mann Ki Baat Programme on All India Radio, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended his heartiest greetings to all countrymen. AIR correspondent reports Chandi Chowk is abuzz with people with last minute shopping of garments, sweets and other gift items. <br/><br/>Ramzan, the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, is observed as a fasting period by Muslims world over who abstain from food and water during the period between sunrise to sunset.
