Eid-ul-Fitr festival observed with religious fervour and gaiety in J&K

In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Eid-ul-Fitr festival was observed yesterday with religious fervour and gaiety. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on the occasion, extended his warm greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.<br />'' <br />''In his message of felicitations, he observed that the festival of Eid is a celebration of the spirit of compassion, brotherhood and harmony. He expressed hope that the auspicious festival deepens the bond of unity, bestows peace, prosperity, happiness to the whole mankind and eradicates the COVID-19 pandemic from the world. <br />''<br />''AIR Correspondent reports, the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr across Kashmir Valley was a low-key-affair as the muslim population marked the culmination of the fasting month of Ramzan by offering their thanksgiving prayers in small congregations at the local mosques in their localities with due adherence to social distancing and other COVID guidelines. <br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, the entire Kashmir valley continues to remain under complete lockdown and streets wore a deserted look in the wake of an alarming surge in the number of positive cases. Transport was off the roads. Only media persons, government officials, essential services and the people with medical emergencies were allowed to move subject to the production of valid passes.</span><br />
