Eid-ul-fitr celebrated with religious fervor in capital

The festival of Eid-ul-fitr was celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety across the national capital, Delhi on Wednesday. Celeberations started with thousands of devotees offering prayers at Jama Masjid, Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya Dargah, and other mosques in different parts of the city, early in the morning.AIR Correspondent reports that people indulged in feasting after observing fast during the holy month of Ramazan.Tens of thousands of people thronged Jama Masjid area which is wearing a festive look. Shops and markets in the walled city are tastefully decorated and smell of sweet delicacies greet the visitors in every street.Hindu families were also seen greeting their Muslim brethren on the happy occasion. Many foreigners and diplomats also joined in the festivities and feasted on tantilizing varieties of sweets. Delhi Police has beefed up security arrangements to prevent any untoward incident at the time of festive mood.
