In Kerala, Muslims are celebrating Id-Ul-Azha on Friday to commemorate the willingness of prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God. Prayers were held in mosques and Id-Gahs across the state. Thousands of believers participated in the prayers in Kozhikode, Malappuram and other districts in the state. Animal sacrifice is a key feature of Id-Ul-Azha celebration which is also known as Bakr-Id.<br/><br/>People across the Gulf region are celebrating Eid ul-azha, the festival of sacrifice, today, which marks the culmination of the Haj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.
