Eid-ul-Azha, the festival of sacrifice was celebrated with religious fervour and enthusiasm in various parts of the country today. The faithfuls dressed in their best thronged Eidgahs and mosques to offer Eid prayers. <br/><br/>Later they exchanged Eid greetings. President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the people on the occassion.<br/> '<br/>In Delhi, main congregations were held at Jama Masjid, Fatehpuri mosque and Shahi Eidgah. Speaking on the occasion, the Imams, who led the prayers appealed to people to maintain peace and harmony and celebrate the festival in the spirit of brotherhood.<br/><br/>In Uttar Pradesh, Eid-al-Adha was celebrated with harmony and peace. Our correspondent reports On third consecutive year Shiya and sunni offered namaz together at famous Shah-e-nazaf imamabada. . <br/><br/>People in Kargil of Jammu and Kashmir offered special prayers for the peace and prosperity on this auspicious day. <br/><br/>In Assam, special Eid prayers were held in major towns and cities. In Guwahati, people offered prayers at Burha masjid, Maskhowa and Islampur among others. <br/><br/>In Telangana capital Hyderabad, reflecting the true spirit of harmony among religions Bakrid festivities took place smoothly along with Ganesh Navaratri festivities.
