Preparations are in full swing for Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations in the country tomorrow. Kerala is however celebrating Eid marking the culmination of the holy month of Ramadan today. In the national capital people are busy in making last minute purchases for Eid celebrations. AIR correspondent who visited different parts of the city reports that there is a lot of hustle and bustle in the old Delhi markets. People have decorated their homes. The young girls were seen painting each other's hands with traditional Heena. Large number of Muslims will throng mosques to offer prayers on Jamat-ul-Vida. In Kerala, Muslims celebrate Id-ul-Fitr today. Thousands of people reach mosque and Id-Gah in the state early in the morning for offering prayers to the All mighty. Id-ul-Fitr marks the end of a month-long fasting.AIR correspondent K. P. Rajeevan reports from Calicut that nearly one month long fasting by Muslims is not only renunciation of food in day time, but control over the sorts of desires of human beings when the Vreth is completed by a month , the believers might have reach an elevated situation of mental &physical strength. The month of Ramzan which is believed to the revealing month of Holy Koran gives a believer self control in full sense.Id ul Fitr is an occasion to purify the beastly tendesies and for attaining the mental and physical power to face and solve various crisis in life. The message of Ramzan is of brotherhood , equality and communal harmony. However, Eid ul-Fitr is being celebrated across Gulf and West Asia region today with traditional fervour and gaiety. People across the gulf countries including United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Iran, and West Asian nations including Egypt, Lebanon are marking the occasion after the end of month long fasting during holy month of Ramada. A Large number of people are visiting friends and family, gathering at parks, while special events have been organised by various organisations on the occasion. The celebration marks the purification achieved by a month of sunrise-to-sunset fasting, which is one of the five pillars of Islam, and is marked by several days of festivities. Three-day public holidays have declared in most of the countries in Gulf on the occasion.
