Eid Milad-Un-Nabi, the birthday of Prophet Mohammad is being celebrated today with religious fervour. President, Vice President and the Prime Minister have greeted the nation on the occassion.

In her message, President Pratibha Devisingh Patil expressed the hope that the message of service to humanity taught by the Prophet will inspire the people for unity and a spirit of fellowship.

Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari called upon the people to follow the path of love and tolerance towards creating a peaceful and just society.

The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, in his message said that Prophet Mohammed’s teachings are timeless and they will always inspire the people.
