Milad-un-Nabi, the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad, was celebrated on Sunday with religious fervour and gaiety across the country. In Delhi, prayer meetings and procession were organized in the different parts of the city.

In the Kashmir valley and Ladakh region, despite severe cold night-long special prayers were held in mosques and other shrines. The main function was held at Hazratbal shrine, which houses the Holy Relic of Prophet Mohammad.
