In Egypt, the authorities have arrested at least four senior officials of the country's largest opposition group, the Muslim Brotherhood. They were arrested before protesters planned to hold mass anti-government demonstrations. There are also reports of widespread disruption to the Internet services. A report says the Internet has played a major role in helping protesters organise demonstrations across the Arab world including in Egypt where there have been three consecutive days of protests. But disruption to Internet service is making the organising of future demonstrations more difficult. Many users have said they could not use the Internet at all while others only reported problems on social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook. The Interior Ministry has said it will take decisive measures against anyone staging protest after prayers today.
