Egypt: Parliament dissolved, constitution suspended, 6 month time given for democratic elections

Egypt's new military rulers have dissolved parliament and suspended the constitution which restricted political activity by opposition groups. The higher military council also said it would be in power for about six months until elections could take place. The moves were welcomed by many of the protesters whose demonstrations ousted Hosni Mubarak.
