Egypt: Court sentenced 40 people in prison for belonging to IS

In Egypt, a court sentenced 40 people to 25 years in prison for belonging to the Islamic State militant group and inciting disorder and sectarian strife in Egypt, state-run Ahram Online reported. <br/><br/>The criminal court of Sharqiya province north of the capital city of Cairo yesterday convicted the 40 defendants of receiving training in Syria and Iraq to create mayhem back home. Egypt has been facing a growing wave of terror attacks since the removal of Islamist President Mohamed Morsi in July 2013.
