EGoM studies issues related to 3rd phase of radio expansion

The Government on Monday said that an Empowered Group of Ministers (EGoM) was studying several issues related to the third phase of expansion of radio that were either not covered by the existing Cabinet decision or had risen during the implementation. In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari said that issues being considered by the EGoM included the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India's recommendation to reduce inter channel spacing to 400 KHZ from the present 800 KHz.
