The Empowered Group of Ministers on Food Security is meeting in New Delhi this evening to discuss the proposed Bill on the issue. The draft Bill aims at making freedom from hunger and malnutrition a fundamental right. The Congress had promised 25 kg of grains at 3 rupees k.g as part of the right to food security.The EGOM on Food Security headed by the Finance Minister Mr. Pranab Mukherjee was set up in July last year.
