The empowered group of Ministers on food is meeting in New Delhi on Thursday to discuss the overall export policy and prices of farm items. Speaking on the sidelines of the function in New Delhi on Wednesday, Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar said that the issue of price of some foodgrain items and policy towards their exports will be discussed.

The Secretary Disinvestment in the Ministry of Finance Mohd. Halim Khan told reporters that Steel Authority of India has decided against issuing any fresh equity.

He however said that government will ahead with its proposal to off-load five per cent stake in the PSU. He said, the change in sales on public offer plan would require fresh approval from the cabinet.
